Black teas are made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. It is fully fermented, thus making it more oxidized than the oolong, green, and white varieties. 

Caffeine level

Loose black tea has approximately 20% as much caffeine content as a cup of coffee.

Health Benefits of Black Tea

Black tea is a friend to the heart. It helps to prevent heart disease by absorbing of cholesterol in the blood stream. It can also lower blood pressure, soothes stress and promotes relaxation.

Black Tea  Preparation Instructions

Brewing black tea usually requires hot water at 195ºF. Use 1.5 tsp of loose tea leaves per 8 oz of water and steep for 3-4 minutes. Please refer to the individual tea package for the exact instructions on how to make the perfect cup of black tea.
